Privacy policy
This page describes what the website collects, why, and what you can ask for. It is written from how the site actually works, not from a generic template.
What we collect
When you request a private lesson
- The first name and surname of the person booking
- An email address, used to send the acknowledgement and then the answer
- A phone number, optional
- The student's school year, optional
- The subject requested and the slot chosen
- A free-text message, optional
- The site language you used, so we answer in that language
When you register for a group session
- The first name, surname and email address of the person registering
- A phone number and school year, both optional
- The session concerned and the site language you used
Automatically, while browsing
- An irreversible fingerprint of your IP address, used to limit how many requests come from one device. The address itself is never stored.
- A log of emails sent: recipient, message type, and whether delivery succeeded.
Why
- To handle a lesson request or a registration, and to answer you.
- To send confirmation emails and the matching calendar invitation.
- To let the teacher concerned prepare the session.
- To stop bots from sending requests in bulk.
Your data is never sold, rented or used for advertising. The site carries no tracker, no analytics and no ad network.
Who has access
The data stays with the team at Le Chemin de l'Éveil. Two providers are involved technically:
- Resend, which sends the automated emails. Your email address and the message content are passed on for that operation only.
- OpenStreetMap, whose servers provide the map background. Displaying the map sends your IP address to those servers. Pages without a map make no third-party request at all.
Fonts are served from this site rather than from an external service, so displaying them sends no data to a third party.
How long
Lesson requests and registrations are kept for 36 months from the last exchange, so we keep a record of the student's follow-up. The email log is kept for the same period. You may ask for your data to be deleted before that.
Cookies
The site sets a single cookie on public pages, named NEXT_LOCALE: it remembers the language you chose, French or English, so you are not asked again. It allows no tracking and holds no personal data.
A second cookie exists only in the team's private area, to keep the login session open. A visitor to the public site never receives it.
Security
Data is stored in a database with restricted access. The admin area is password-protected and not indexed by search engines. IP addresses used to limit requests are hashed before storage, which makes them irreversible.
Your rights
At any time you may ask:
- to see the data we hold about you,
- to have it corrected if it is wrong,
- to have it deleted,
- to object to it being processed.
A single email to contact@chemindeveil.com is enough. We answer within one month. If the request concerns a child's data, it must come from the parent or legal guardian.
